I have been in management consulting since 1968, mainly in marketing and corporate finance work. Since 1995 when I left a Big 5 firm to be on my own, I have concentrated on strategy, corporate culture, team building and personal development assignments.
I have also taught or been a guest lecturer at various educational institutions in Singapore. Besides the traditional functional subjects, I taught Creative Thinking and Critical Thinking.
I am active in a few non-profit organisations as well as clubs and professional associations.
In my first job after graduation, I did brand work at Procter & Gamble. This was long before branding consultants started claiming they were the experts.
Photography is my favourite hobby. I take anywhere between 10,000 to 15,000 shots a year, especially now that I’ve gone digital.
I get excited when I find some new information that I have long been looking for. I’m fascinated by the who, what, when, where, how but more importantly, why. Besides general knowledge that have practical applications, I also seek unusual knowledge. One that may have meaning only to me. But who knows? Someone else may be faced with the same peculiar problem. So I’ll share both my questions as well as what I’ve found out.
